Bruce B. Dalbec, age 78, of Crosslake, formerly of Maple Lake, died Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2016 at St. Timothy Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas McCabe as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery in Maple Lake. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Parish Prayers will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel. Memorials are preferred to St. Timothy Catholic School.
Bruce Brian Dalbec was born November 25, 1937 in Waverly to Henry and Lucienne (Boisvert) Dalbec. He grew up in Waverly and attended Buffalo High School. On November 27, 1954, Bruce was united in marriage to Gloria Mae Boggs at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Together, they raised their family in Maple Lake. Bruce owned and operated Bruce Dalbec Contracting from 1957 until selling the business and retiring in 1999. After retirement, Bruce and Gloria moved to Cross Lake. Bruce was a Journeyman in the Brick Layers Union Local 1. Bruce enjoyed fishing, camping, deer hunting, snowmobiling and NASCAR. He loved his Arabian Horses, antique furniture, motorcycles and was a car enthusiast. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria; children Terri (Stan) Fuller of Maple Lake, Bruce (friend Diane Heitkamp) of Delano and Kristi (fiancé Jim McDonald) of Plymouth; nine grandchildren Hollie, Heidi, Reggie, Derrick, Darin, Daniel, Cody, Tanner and Trevor; eight great grandchildren Emma, Zach, Gavin, Dylan, Parker, Cooper, Mason and Dalton; and siblings Bernard (Arlene) of Breezy Point, Carol (Dick) Hogan of Maple Lake, Barrie (Char) of Monticello, Corliss Johnson of Cold Spring, Gordon (Woyle) of Olympia, WA and Kevin (Judy) of Buffalo. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lucienne; son Todd; and sister Gretchen.
Bruce’s grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Sarah Goelz and Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
