Tim and Janine,
I offer my deepest sympathies to you, your brother and sisters and your mom. This is a great loss. Your father was quite a man, loving and giving to all. Again, my deepest sympathies for all of you.

Goldie & family:   We were deeply saddened to hear of Nick''''s passing.  Knowing him for over 40 years, I considered him a good friend.  He always was happy and joking when he came in the store.  He will be greatly missed.  Lyle Kuehn

My Dear Grandpa,
While I was not prepared for this in the least, I am incredibly blessed to have been able to spend 27 amazing years learning from you.  You taught us all how to love, be selfless, follow in Christ, and live life!  You were a Saint to all of us, but to see and hear stories of the hundreds of people you touched (from best friends to people who had just met you) made you even more Saintly.  If I can touch even a few people in the way you did, I would feel accomplished; I will keep this as my mission.

I loved the fact that you loved the people around you so much that you would easily find a reason to throw a party!  Every single Holiday was special, and that is because you made it so.   While I know that the holidays will never be the same without you there, we are committed to continue to all get together, often, and sometimes just to throw a party!

You left behind big boots to fill, but all 40 of us kids, grand kids and great-grandkids will work passionately to continue your passions and make you proud.

We are so proud of you! And are blessed to be able to call you Grandpa!  And I will keep smiling because that is what you told me to do; and because that it was makes life worth living! :)

I love you!

My Dearest Grandpa,

The way you touched my heart and the impact you had on my life no one will ever know.  That was one of the most wonderful things about you though; that you touched so many people in this world weather it was something big or small- volunteering or just a simple warm smile, you made people feel important, special, loved, and cared for.  I know you are in a better place, I just wish you did not have to leave so soon.  I know that you do not want an extended amount of sadness over your loss because we will see again one day and you are happily looking down on everyone you loved, but my heart is so broken Grandpa knowing I cannot tell you how much I love you in the flesh ever again.  Thank you for making every single holiday so special, especially Christmas!  Thank you for instilling in me the value of life, great morales, and the importance of having a relationship with Christ.  I will instill in my children what you have instilled and taught me. You always put family first.  I am so thankful and lucky that I had you for a Grandpa!

I MISS YOU SO MUCH, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, & UNTIL I SEE YOU AGAIN YOU WILL BE SMILING DOWN ON ME.

"LIFE IS GOOD"!!

JAYNEE

Goldie and family,  My heart and mind is wth all of you today as I feel so bad I cannot be there.  My prayers and thoughts will be there all day.  As I look at the clock here in AZ and think about what you are doing each minute.  I feel your pain and sorrow as I recall those hours.  I am so sorry for your loss and I know he will be missed by so many but never as much as you will miss him.  You have such strong faith and I hope that someday you can look back and say Thank you Lord for taking him in such a peaceful way.  Thank you Lord for letting me share him with you for 58 years and its okay.  God Bless all of you.

Dear Goldie,
Just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and your wonderful family right now and will keep you all in my prayers.  It was wonderful to see you all yesterday, only wish I could of made the time to do it at a different, happier time.  Funny how time slips away.  You have a remarkable family.  Just hearing from them, I can tell and always knew what a remarkable man Nick was.  Your children, grandchildern and great-grandchildern where truely blessed to have him in their lives.  He will continue to be with them through the life lessons he passed on to them.  I know you all have many happy memories.
Also, I wanted to share with you that my happiest times/memories at Grandma & Grandpa''s farm was when I heard Uncle Nick''s truck come or heard someone say, "Nick''s here!"  Now having a family of my own, I know what a sacrifice that was for you and your children when they were young.  He spent alot of hours working very hard on the farm after his job and week-ends.  Even then, I remember him smiling, humming & singing!!

Dear Nick, Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.
Love to you all and God''''s Blessings,
                                                    Ginny

Nick will be very missed in our community of friends. He was such a terrfic guy. He always took time to visit with us to see what was happening in our world. He was always in a good mood and you could tell that everyone that came in touch with Nick felt better after just visiting with him for a couple minutes. He made our world a better place. Our prayers go out to Goldie and the entire family. I know God has his loving arms wrapped around him and he is saying "this Nick is a saint"!

My little Giant went out with a smile, trusting in the good Lord all the way.
He touched so many in his own special way knowing at the end of the day he loved all he could.
He pointed to God to his family and friends and leaned on his faith right up to the end. Whenever we got together he''d say,
..."Life is Good, keep smiling, tomorrow’s another day"
Daddy, I wouldn’t want it any other way, you lived life and taught us how to live it too!
Love You,
Barbie

Hi Goldie,
Mark and I knew Nick was a "super"man and a child of God the minute we met him and saw his little badge/pin with the Christian cross - that he always wore. In his life he set an example of how a man should live with Christianity at the top of importance in his life.  He will truly be missed by us earthly bound (for now) Christians. Love you Goldie.

Goldie - our prayers are with you and your family. This is such a sad time for all those that Nick left behind. He was a wonderful man and a blessing for our community. We know he is smiling down on us from heaven with his constant smile - but we are sad to no longer have him in our midst and know you will miss him greatly.  We were so lucky to have known him.  The Volden''s

He may no longer be with us but his teachings, memories, and his hard work still stands today. Be that in his house on the hill or at the local camp he loved to work at so much.

The new comers to our family may never know him, but he lives on still thu us today. Teachings are never forgotten, the ones he has helped will still be grateful, and we will never for get him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. He was one of the best!  I remember him faithfully taking care of Grandma's home and yard for 20 years (not many people are that devoted) and so many other wonderful things he did - including being such a great husband, father, grandfather and uncle.  He will be missed.  Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine on him. Amen
