Norma R. Cairns, age 87, of Annandale, formerly of Glen Ellyn, IL died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Cardinal Memory Care Cottage of the Annandale Care Center.
Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale, Minnesota with Pastor David Nelson officiating. Additionally, a Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Lukes Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn, IL with Pastor Charles Plummer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to each service. Burial will take place at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
Norma Roberta Bost Cairns was born October 7, 1928 in Sheffield, IL to Frank and Libby (Sweet) Bost. She graduated from Schures High School in Chicago, IL with the Class of 1946. She worked as a banking clerk and a homemaker. Norma is a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn, IL and attended services at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale, MN. She was a member of the American Legion and was active with the Boy Scouts of America, March of Dimes and PTA. Norma enjoyed golfing, bowling and boating.
Norma is survived by her children Kathleen (Wayne) Mader of Annandale, MN, Connie Ganschow of Wheaton, IL, William (Cynthia) Cairns of Wheaton, IL, Bryan (Annmarie) Cairns of El Korn, WI and Scott (Carolyn) Cairns of Westchester, IL; ten grandchildren Joyce, Edward, Mariclaire, Seamus, Katherine, Meghan, Kaylie, Brandi, Crystal and Brittnay; fifteen great grandchildren Blake, Ashlee, Emalee, William, Jack, Jake, Faith, Philip, Matthew, James, Henry, William, Lillian, Christian and Zyley; two great great grandchildren Nova and Cholie; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Libby Bost; husband William Cairns; sons-in-law Philip Healy and Norman Ganschow; brothers Edward Bost and Bennet Bost; and sisters Mary McMann and Betty Eckmayer-Thies.
Orma Lou Jacobsma will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
