Leona E. Hexum, age 92, of Annandale, MN, formerly of Maple Lake, MN and Flandreau, SD died September 6, 2015 at Cardinal Cottages, Annandale.

    Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake, MN with Pastor Culynn Curtis officiating and at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Flandreau, SD with Pastor Rob Salmonson officiating.  Burial will be 5:30 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hartford, SD.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in Maple Lake and one hour prior to the service in Flandreau.

    Leona Elaine Hexum was born July 7, 1923 in Lennox, SD to Peter and Irma (Klicker) Diedrich.  She graduated from high school with the Class of 1941 in Graceville, MN and continued her education at General Beadle College in Madison, SD.  On March 25, 1944, Leona was united in marriage to Arden Hexum in Hendricks, MN. She worked as a Dietary Supervisor for 27 years at Flandreau Municipal Hospital in Flandreau, SD, retiring in 1992.  Leona was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Maple Lake where she was active in the Quilter's Group.  In 2002, she was honored by being named the Outstanding Senior Citizen of Wright County.  Leona enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting and playing cards.

    She is survived by her children Ronald (Helen Nass) of Sioux Falls, SD; Daniel of Fergus Falls; Lester of Shakopee and Patricia (Chris) Finn of Maple Lake; six grandchildren Michelle Stenberg, Robert, Bonnie and Jennifer Hexum, Alexander and Jacqueline Finn; three great grandchildren Amanda, Cole and Aimee Stenberg; three step great grandchildren Justin, Tyson and Alexandra DeGroot; and brother Roger (Janice) Diedrich.  She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Irma Diedrich; husband Arden Hexum; daughter Carol Jean Hexum; infant grandson Paul Hexum; and brother Evan Diedrich.

    Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake, MN and Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau, SD.
