    Judith A. Bayer, age 64, of Annandale, died on Monday, June 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by the love and care of her family after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

    Memorial Services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday also at the church. A Celebration of Judy’s Life for friends and family will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Bayer Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

    Judith Ann Bayer was born April 26, 1952 in Belgrade, Minnesota to Philip and Lucille (Anderson) Olson. Judy grew up in Belgrade, where she graduated from Belgrade High School with the Class of 1970. She went on to further her education at Ancker School of Nursing. On September 9, 1972, Judy was united in marriage to Joseph R. Bayer at Grace Lutheran Church in Belgrade. They started their family in Minneapolis and Denver, Colorado before moving to Annandale in 1987. Judy worked for Security State Bank in Maple Lake from 1987-2000. For the last 15+ years, Judy has been the event coordinator for Bayer Built Woodworks. She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and also gave of her time and talents as a member of the Annandale Improvement Club.

    Music has always been a passion of Judy’s.  She began playing piano as a child, competed on her saxophone at the state level during high school and marched in her father’s marching band as a majorette.  In her spare time, she liked to travel, tend to her flowers and shop for her grandchildren. Judy enjoyed entertaining company at her home and will lovingly be remembered as a consummate caregiver and for her gentle smile and positive attitude. Judy treasured the time she was able to spend with her family, especially with her 9 adoring grandchildren.

    Judy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joe of Annandale; children, Holly Bayer of Minnetonka, Jon (Zsuzsa) of Paynesville, and Steven (Shannon) of South Haven; grandchildren, Joseph, Madeleine, Charlie, Zachary, Lucas, Dylan, Brayden, Emmitt, and Lillian; parents, Philip and Lucille Olson of Belgrade; siblings, Carol Fadness of Apple Valley, and Keith (Ruth) Olson of Madison Lake; sixteen nieces and nephews and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herman & Clara Anderson and Palmer & Olga Olson.

     The urn bearers will be Mary Ellen Imdieke, Carol Fadness, Annie Detmar and Laurie Bayer.  Becky Unger, Elizabeth Cabelka and Eilleen Farrell will provide music for the service.
