    Dale E. Schmidt, age 81, of Annandale, died Saturday May 7, 2016 at the Annandale Care Center. 
    Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale with Pastor Dave Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale.  Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
    Dale Edward Schmidt was born February 5, 1935 in Kimball to Edward and Lorraine (Bowatz) Schmidt.  He grew up in Fairhaven and was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven.  On June 25, 1955, he was united in marriage to Joyce Logeais at St. Anne Catholic Church in Kimball.  They lived in Columbia Heights for a short time after their marriage and moved to Annandale in 1960.  Dale worked for Lyman Lumber in Annandale and retired from Mid-American Cedar in Osseo in 2000.  He enjoyed wood working, old cars, going to the Wright County Swappers Meet, growing exotic tomatoes and spending time with family.
    Dale is survived by his children Mitch (Pat) of Annandale, Shelly (Eldon) Danelke of Annandale, Sherri (Harry) Newman of Buffalo, Dana (Tammy) of Annandale, Joni (Mike) Marquart of Princeton, Kathy (John Nelson) of Maple Lake and Brad (Barb) of Annandale; eleven grandchildren Justin Newman, Heather Danelke, Tonia Persons, Christine Hoversten, Jennifer Schmidt, Samantha Hagen, Jeremy Schmidt, Amanda Stolp, Megan Blasczyk, Alex Schmidt and Andy Nyren; six step grandchildren Kory Nyren, Joe Finneman, Jenny Finneman, Lisa Stewart, Traci Sherman and Andrew Sherman; fourteen great grandchildren Jorden, Eli, Lusi, Miranda, Hailey, Alivia, Ashton, Stephanie, Audra, Emma, Eva, Layla, Micah and Raelyn; brothers and sisters Dwane (Mae) of Annandale, Mary Lou (Don) Ingram of Bloomington, Jerry (Doris) of New Brighton and Larry (Dawn) of Long Prairie; niece & caregiver Diane Sheldon; and his companion dog Buffy.  He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Lorraine; wife Joyce; sister Shirley Stewart; great nephew Joey Stewart; and companion dog Buddy.
    The urn bearers and honorary urn bearers will be Dale’s grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
