Alvera A. Gohmann, age 92, of Kimball died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Heritage House of Kimball.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake with Fr. Ronald Weyrens as the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Parish Prayers will be 4:15 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Alvera Ann Gohmann was born December 31, 1924 in St. Cloud to George and Margaret (Silbernagle) Kloeppner. She grew up in Clearwater. On October 20, 1943, she was united in marriage to George Gohmann at St. Mary Help of Christians in St. Augusta. They lived in St. Cloud, until moving to Pearl Lake in 1973 and to Kimball in 1997. Alvera moved to Onalaska, WI to live with her daughter 5 years ago and moved to the Heritage House of Kimball in 2014. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Catholic Financial and the Pearl Lake Quilters Group. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, fishing and playing cards. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her family.
She is survived by her children Eugene (Gloria) of Kimball, Ray (Sharon) of Luxemburg, Duane (Deb) of Anoka, Joan (Mike) Hoppens of Onalaska, WI, Betty (Bob) Henkemeyer of Waite Park and Greg (Sandi) of St. Cloud; 14 grandchildren Teresa, John, Rod, Tracey, Shawn, Chad, Jeremy, Andy, Michelle, Nick, Matt, Rachel, Christopher and Katy; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; brother Richard (Marion) Kloeppner of Clearwater; sister Edna Kieke of St. Cloud; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Margaret Kloeppner; husband George Gohmann on February 12, 2011; and sister Pat Ruehle.
The casket bearers will be Chad, Rod, John and Matthew Gohmann, Tyler and Michael Nelson and Chris Lenarz. Julene Faber-Andrusick and Katy Walmsley will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
