We received the news of Tom's passing from Tom Fisher, former teacher at Fred Moore Junior High School (renamed to Fred Moore Middle School). We are deeply saddened by his passing because both of us were at one time under his leadership as principal. We thoroughly enjoyed the visits with Tom and Darlene in Annendale and regret not having one more.

Tom was probably the very most important person in our professional lives, hence our personal lives, having hired Bill as a new teacher and Nancy as a transferred teacher under his leadership. Tom was pretty much a "hands off" leader, but there was never a question about who was in charge and we can say 99% of the faculty appreciated that from his leadership. One always knew what was expected of him/her. We will always remember Tom as a thoughtful leader, making difficult decisions only after much ruminating. We mourn his passing.

I was so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was very much a guiding light and steady presence as my first principal at Fred Moore Junior High. May the stories and pictures your family has keep him forever close in heart. He was truly a principal with principles.
