Joyful and anxious anticipation turned into sorrowful heartache as Merlette Lane Ronallo was delivered into her family’s arms at 1:38 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She weighed 3 lbs. 12 oz. and was 17 ½ inches long. Despite being diagnosed with Trisomy 18, Merlette continued to overwhelmingly fill her family’s hearts with love and joy as she grew in her mother’s womb for 39 weeks. An ever so precious gift from God, Merlette blessed her parents with the sound of her heartbeat, the fluttering feeling of her kicks and movements, and a small glimpse of her personality as to what they believe may have had a hint of stubbornness. The hopes, dreams, and love for Merlette have become cherished memories for all those who so dearly love her.

Merlette is survived by her parents, Jon and Channing (nee Skluzacek) Ronallo of Maple Lake; grandparents, Brian & Angie Skluzacek of Annandale, Tim & Kathy Phillips of Buffalo, and Joe & Barbara Ronallo of Dalton; uncles and aunt, Brian & Jordan Skluzacek, Jr. of Howard Lake, Trevor Skluzacek of Annandale, and Chad Phillips of Buffalo; great grandparents, Jim Widhalm of St. Francis, Kirsten Lynette “Lyn” Slipher of Rosemount, William & Carolyn Slipher of Prior Lake, Rudolph & Arlene Skluzacek of Lonsdale, Richard Ronallo of Ashby, Doreen Phillips of Annandale, and Marlene (Tony Breitzmann) Brown of Lake Nebagamon, WI; great-great grandparents, Milton Swenson of Shoreview and Irvin Slipher of Danbury, Wisconsin; and many great aunts, uncles, and other loving family members. There to greet Merlette were her great grandparents and great-great grandparents that have preceded her in death.
