Karen L. Haas, age 64, of Maple Lake died unexpectedly on Friday, December 30, 2016 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Buffalo with Rev. Ryan Clark officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. A prayer service will be held 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville.
Karen Lee Haas was born June 23, 1952 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Edward and Clarice (Musser) Schuster. Karen grew up in St. Paul, where she graduated in 1970 from Murray High School. She furthered her education at Globe College of Business. On June 17, 1972, she was united in marriage to Richard L. Haas at Jehovah Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. Karen and Richard resided south of Maple Lake. Karen worked for many years at the Target in Buffalo. In her spare time, Karen enjoyed reading, doing genealogy, cross-stitching and crafts.
Karen is survived by her husband of 44 years, Richard of Maple Lake; children, Terry of Maple Lake and Patricia (James) Levin of Zimmerman; grandson, Nicolas Levin; brothers, Clair (Sharon) Schuster of St. Francis, Dennis (Beth) Schuster of Arden Hills, and Craig (Mary) Schuster of Blaine; special sister, Joy (Wayne) Sabin of Ramsey; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Clarice Schuster and brother, Philip Schuster.
Nicolas Levin, Heidi Rasmussen, Courtney Lach, Amanda Schuster, Brandon Schuster, Jason Schuster, Paul Mueller, Sheryl Wells, and Kathy Krier will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
