    George S. Nothnagel, age 94, of Buffalo, formerly of Maple Lake, died Thursday, August 18, 2016 at his residence in Buffalo, surrounded by the love and care of his family.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.  Visitation will continue from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, also at the funeral chapel.  Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale.

    George Sylvester Nothnagel was born October 7, 1921 in Kimball, Minnesota to George and Angeline (Creteier) Nothnagel. George grew up and attended school in Kimball. On May 1, 1951 George was united in marriage to Patricia Dearing at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. He worked in Crosby and Hibbing before moving his family to Maple Lake in 1961. George worked as a groundman for Wright-Hennepin for 20 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a jack-of-all-trades, helping all of his children finish their homes.  George enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.

    George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pat of Buffalo; children, Dennis Nothnagel of Coon Rapids, Patricia (Dale) Nygaard of Howard Lake and Tim (Marilee) Nothnagel of Owatonna; daughter-in-law, Susan Nothnagel of Buffalo; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Angeline Eisenreich of Crosby and Delores Spaude of St. Cloud; and many other family members and friends. George was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey; parents, George & Angeline; brothers, Gus, Jack, Andy, Clarence, Leonard and Ervin Nothnagel; an infant brother; and sisters, Helen Loch, Theresa Janisch and Mary Leudders.

    The urn bearers will be Courtney, Jeremy and Tyler Nothnagel, Stacy and April Nygaard, Kelsey Schoen, Kara Becker, Jenny Carlson and Sara Stemper. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
