William "Bill" Sohr

William “Bill” Sohr, 76, of South Haven passed away October 30, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital with family by his side after a critical illness.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven with Rev. David Buchs officiating. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery with military honors.

William Allen Sohr was born on February 12, 1943 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Vernon and Pearle (White) Sohr, and graduated in 1961 from Robbinsdale High School. He honorably enlisted and served his country with the United States Army, was stationed in Italy for a brief time and worked with communications. Early in life, Bill married Karron Taylor, and had two daughters, Rhonda and Robin. He was then married to Kathy Jo Frolik and she preceded him in death. Bill worked for over 30 years with Honeywell in the metro as a supervisor, and briefly enjoyed some time working at Spee-Dee Delivery. On June 26, 2005, he was united in marriage to Catherine Hausladen. Bill and Kathy eventually retired to South Haven.

His hobbies included deer hunting and fishing. Earlier in life he enjoyed snowmobiling in Cumberland with friends and family and going to the Minnesota State Fair. He was known for hosting good fish fry’s, always winning at pull tabs and meat raffles and a bit of stubbornness. Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor, caring for his family and having many good times!

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Catherine Sohr; daughters, Rhonda Wille and Robin Sohr; grandchildren, Dylan, Dustin and Abby; sister, Judy (Clarence) Fischer; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. William was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Pearle Sohr; wife, Kathy Jo Sohr; and brothers, Larry Sohr and Barry Sohr.

The casket bearers will be Dylan Sohr, Dustin Wille, Eric Sohr, Abby Wille-Borchardt, Cody Baumgarten, Caleb Baumgarten, Nathan Baumgarten and Cassandra Baumgarten. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
