Thomas R. Fashant, age 66, of Minneapolis, died Sunday, November 22, 2020 at North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
Remembrance Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery, Annandale. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website. The family of Tom kindly requests all attendees to wear a mask. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, or the charity of the donor's choosing. In honor of Tom's love of golf, a luncheon will follow at the Southbrook Golf Course.
Thomas Ronald Fashant was born June 13, 1954 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Ronald and Maxine (Hauskin) Fashant. Tom was the fourth eldest child, and the first son. As a young child, Tom moved with his family to Brooklyn Park. He attended Abraham Lincoln Elementary School, as well as St. Raphael's Catholic School. His high school years were spent at Benilde High School, where he ran cross country. He graduated with the Class of 1972. He furthered his education at St. John's University in Collegeville. After a career in finance and collections, Tom worked as a child support services officer at Hennepin County. He was a dedicated golfer for a majority of his adult life, forging many valued friendships among his golfing buddies. Tom was known to occasionally enjoy a piece of chocolate from time to time.
Tom was survived by his parents, Ronald and Maxine Fashant; siblings, Susan Daniewicz of Falcon Heights, Sally Fashant of Brooklyn Park, Cindy (Mike) Collins of Minneapolis, Jeff Fashant of Brooklyn Park, Mary (Dale) Kerrigan of West St. Paul, Martha (Greg) Gentilini of Farmington, Katie Leifur (Peter Dowd) of Edina, and Andy (Karen) Fashant of Annandale; 18 nieces and nephews; 7 great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irene and Russell Fashant, and Adolph and Lydia Hausken; and brother, Christopher Fashant.
Andy and Jeff Fashant will serve as urn bearers. Lyle and Lydia Fashant will provide music for the service. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
