Thomas Anthony Carriveau was born July 30, 1943 in Cokato, Minnesota to Harry and Marguerite (Prew) Carriveau. Tom grew up near Cokato, Highland, and much of his childhood was spent on the family farm north of Maple Lake, where he attended school. On April 20, 1963 Tom was united in marriage to Donna M. Muther in Minneapolis. They made their home in Maple Lake, where they raised their four sons. Tom worked in the marine industry for much of his working career for Thomas Marine, Sun-Patio Warrior Boats, and Crystal-Pierz Marine, before spending his remaining years before retirement at MP Nexlevel. Tom loved farming and machinery and could often be found on his tractors or with his equipment. He also took great pride in his lake place and enjoyed getting out on the lake to fish. Above all, Tom cherished the time he was able to spend with his family.
Tom is survived by his four sons, Richard (Deborah) of Mayer, James of Big Lake, John (Amber) of Elk River, and Scott (Melissa) of Maple Lake; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Harriet Fennema of Big Lake, Mary Dahlgren of Maple Lake, and Marjorie LaTour of St. Cloud; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Donna; parents, Harry & Marguerite; brother, Joe Carriveau; great-granddaughter, Briar Faye Guggisberg.
Tom's sons will serve as urn bearers. Sarah Goelz and Krista Elsenpeter will provide music for the service. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
