Shari Ann Millner was born July 27, 1972 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Roger and Karen (Kulus) Millner. Shari grew up in Annandale, along with her 3 siblings, Shelly, Scott, and Sam. She was a 1990 graduate of Annandale High School. Shari then obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from St. Cloud State University. Following her graduation, she went to work for Medallion Media. In 1995, Shari joined the family businesses, M&M Bus Service and M&M Express Sales and Service. Shari worked as the operations director of M&M Bus Service for the past 25+ years and oversaw all the safety training. With children's' safety being of the utmost importance, Shari and her father, Roger, developed a school bus safety program that is now used nationwide. She was the Co-Executive Director of the Minnesota School Bus Operators Association.
While exercising at the St. Cloud Athletic Club, Shari caught the eye of a young man, Brent Danzeisen. Although initially declining his offer to go on a date, Shari eventually asked Brent to hang out and as the saying goes, the rest is history. On September 27, 2003, they were united in marriage at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. They resided near Annandale and filled their home with love for their three children, Emma, Jack, and Caleb.
Believing in the importance of a strong community and school, Shari volunteered her time in various capacities. She was a member of the Annandale Area Chamber of Commerce where she served on the board and various committees and served as the Chamber President in 2016. She headed the 4th of July talent contest for a few years and was the parade scheduler for the Annandale Ambassadors. Shari put her graphic arts degree to work and created the Annandale Care Center Logo and the City of Annandale logo that is on the water tower and kiosk. She also was a member of the Annandale Elementary School Parent/Staff Advisory Committee.
Shari's life centered around her faith. She was a lifelong member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and was a religious education teacher. As an artist, Shari enjoyed painting and crocheting. She also liked to drive her Jeep and didn't usually turn down the offer to go shopping.
Of all the roles Shari took on over the years, her greatest role was that as a family person. She embraced her role as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. Shari was a fierce defender and advocate of her entire family. She loved being in their presence and was often found snuggling a baby. She loved to attend her children's sporting events, concerts, and other school and church activities. She proudly watched from the stands, cheering them on not only in their activities, but in life. She was beyond proud of the people they are becoming.
Shari is survived by her husband of 17 years, Brent of Annandale; adoring children, Emma, Jack, and Caleb all of Annandale; parents, Roger and Karen Millner of Annandale; siblings, Shelly (Kurt) Jonas, Scott (Corrine) Millner, and Sam (Alicia) Millner all of Annandale; her parents-in-law, Keith and Connie Danzeisen of Mesa, AZ; sister-in-law, Kim (Troy) Crosby of Long Prairie; nieces and nephews, Ben, Maddie and Kate Jonas, Isaac, Michael, Faith, Claire, Ethan, Alex, Luke, William, Rebekah, Gus, Eve, Ingrid, Zach, Nora, Sonja and Theresa Millner; Cole and Connor Crosby, and Cole and Brooke Ostendorf; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, a number of dear friends she made over the years, and her colleagues and employees. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leonard and Joan Kulus and Frank and Barb Millner; and uncles, Fran and Lee Millner and Marvin Dorn.
Shari's godchildren, Madalyn Jonas, Faith Millner, Nora Millner, William Millner, and Eve Millner will serve as urn bearers. St. Ignatius Music Ministry will provide music for the service. Zach, Ethan, and Alex Millner will be altar servers with Claire Millner and Kate Jonas as the readers. Gift Bearers will be Ben Jonas, Isaac, Michael, Sonja, Theresa, Luke, Rebekah, Gus, and Ingrid Millner.
