Shane A. Chapp, age 48, of Rice, Minnesota died Sunday, April 19, 2020, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Private Remembrance Services for immediate family members will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2020 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball. Burial will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery, Kimball. Shane's service will be webcast for extended family members and friends. Shane Anthony Chapp was born May 1, 1971 in Milaca, Minnesota to Anthony and Carolyn (Bergstrom) Chapp. Shane grew up in the country near South Haven, and attended school in Kimball, where he graduated with the Class of 1989. He worked as a printer at Fingerhut, in assembly at Malco, in road maintenance for Stearns County, as a delivery driver for Spee-Dee and most recently, in the parts division of Marthaler Chevrolet of Glenwood. Shane had a love of classic cars and bowling. He was an outdoorsman and nature enthusiast that liked to fish, shoot target practice, and use his chainsaw. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Shane relished the time he spent in the presence of his family and friends, whether it being playing cribbage, sitting around a bonfire drinking the occasional Busch Light, or just simply hanging out.
Shane is survived by his parents, Anthony and Carolyn Chapp of South Haven; son, Sean of Sauk Rapids; significant other, Karen Piekarski and her children, Dominic and Kylie, of Osakis; siblings, Corinne Thibodeau of Sauk Rapids, Richard Chapp of South Haven, Nathan Chapp of Sauk Rapids, and Ryan Chapp of South Haven; nieces and nephews, Brittany and Ashley; great-niece and great-nephew, Aivra and Tatum; brother-in-law, Mike Thibodeau of St. Cloud; aunts and uncles, Mary Deitterman, Victoria Kosloski, Delores (Franz) Gossen, and Ken Bergstrom; and extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Chapp; grandparents, Clifford and Sadie Bergstrom, and Felix and Lottie Chapp; and great nephew, Khale.
The casket bearers will be Richard, Ryan, Nathan, Brittany and Sean Chapp, and Corinne Thibodeau. Brian Dingmann will officate the service as the Life Tribute Celebrant. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
