Scott Jawan Nystrom

Scott J. Nystrom, age 32, of Clearwater, died with his family at his side at the St. Cloud Hospital on November 14, 2023, after sudden onset of multiple health complications.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Kimball Christian Church in Kimball with Pastor Joe Druga officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball and 10-11 a.m. on Friday at Kimball Christian Church in Kimball.

Scott Jawan Nystrom was born May 23, 1991, in St. Paul, Minnesota. As an infant, he was adopted by Donald and Brenda (Thurber) Nystrom. Scott attended school in Kimball until his senior year; he graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School with the Class of 2010. He furthered his education at St Cloud Technical College where he earned his associate degree and in 2019, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Cloud State University. Scott worked at Thrivent Financial in Minneapolis as a financial analyst since 2020. He enjoyed travel, basketball, and golf. Scott was a loving uncle and a kind and committed friend.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Brenda and Greg Mass of Clearwater; sister and brothers, Heather (Jeff) Finholm of Red Wing, Mitchell Nystrom of St. Augusta, and Eric (Becky) Nystrom of Kimball; nieces and nephews, Lauren Juhl, Easton and Adaline Nystrom, Joseph and Matthew Finholm; birth mother, Vickie Walker; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

The urn bearers will be Heather and Jeff Finholm, Mitchell, Eric and Becky Nystrom. Scott's nieces and nephews will serve as honorary urn bearers. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Kimball.
