Sandra Barthelemy Obituary

Sandra "Sandy" Barthelemy, age 81, of Minnetonka, formerly of Annandale passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024, in her home.

To honor Sandy's wishes, the family will hold a private service to be held at Dingmann Funeral Care in Annandale with burial following at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery near Annandale. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or ASPCA.

Sandra Louise Lundquist was born June 19, 1942, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota to Myron and Dorothy (Bielke) Lundquist. Sadly, her mother fell ill and died in 1960. Sandy was instrumental in helping her dad in the home providing care for her three younger brothers James, Robert, and Mark. In 1960, she graduated from St. Louis Park High School. During her high school years Sandy enjoyed being a member of the Glee Club and teaching Sunday school.

Everyone who knows Sandy will remember a devout wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. When she was not caring for her family, she could be found at art and craft fairs looking for ideas and letting us know, "I could make that!"; she could and often would. Talented at crafts and as a seamstress, she would put together fun and creative gifts that still sit in many homes.

Until recently, she spent a number of years in the community of Annandale with her husband Richard, "Dick." They enjoyed life on Lake Sylvia and later in the Southbrook neighborhood. She was a ray of light in every room she entered, always caring and empathetic of those around her.

Sandy is survived by her children, Cindy (Greg) Berg of Harlowton, MT, Michelle Motzko of Hopkins, Kathy Carlson of Minnetonka, Kari (Andrew) Scott of Portland, OR, and Andrew Boyce of Kansas City, MO; stepchildren, RaeAnn (Bill) Brown of Texas, Janelle (Bob) Tyson of Minnetrista, William (Elizabeth) of Kerrville, TX, and Teresa (Steve) Netkow of Moundsview; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Anna) Lundquist of Plymouth, and Robert Lundquist of Arizona; and many nieces & nephews, extended family and friends. She will be greeted with love by all of those who have gone before including her parents; husband, Dick; and brother, Mark.
