Ronald R. Fashant, age 90, of Kimball, died Monday, March 8, 2021 at Cokato Manor.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 11 and 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, both at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant. Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 16 at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery, Annandale. The service will be live-streamed on the Dingmann Funeral Care website.
Ronald Russell Fashant was born June 30, 1930 in Annandale, Minnesota to Russell and Irene (Lusti) Fashant. Ron grew up in Annandale. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale and graduated from Annandale High School with the Class of 1948. Ron furthered his education at St. John's University in Collegeville and St. Thomas University in St. Paul. On April 21, 1949 he was united in marriage to Maxine L. Hausken in Decorah, Iowa. Ron and Maxine were blessed with 10 children. They lived in Annandale, Chicago, Brooklyn Park, Bismarck, and many other locations based on where Ron's career took him. Ron worked in the road construction industry for most of his career. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Kimball. Ron enjoyed traveling, attending St. John's football games, recalling old work projects, going to his grandchildren's events and spending time with his family.
Ron is survived by his wife of 71 years, Maxine; children, Susan Daniewicz of Falcon Heights, Sally Fashant of Brooklyn Park, Cindy (Mike) Collins of Minneapolis, Jeff of Brooklyn Park, Mary (Dale) Kerrigan of West St. Paul, Martha (Greg) Gentilini of Farmington, Katie Leifur (Peter Dowd) of Edina, and Andy (Karen) of Annandale; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Iris (Pat) McAlpin of Ham Lake; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Irene; sons, Tom and Chris; and brother, Keith.
Lyle Fashant and Lydia Fashant will provide music for the service. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
