Rodney L. Johnson, age 73, of Buffalo, formerly of West St. Paul died on Christmas Day, December 25, 2019, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake with Pastor Marc Well Nagel officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, east Maple Lake.
Rodney Lee Johnson was born May 7, 1946 in Benson, Minnesota to Kenneth and Leona (Welch) Johnson. He grew up in Benson, where he graduated from Benson High School. Rodney has lived in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area since 1976. He worked for Fort Snelling for 25 years, retiring in 2006. In 2015, Rodney moved to The Glenn in Buffalo. He enjoyed making home movies and loved to dance.
Rodney is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Kip Blizil of Maple Lake; nieces and nephews, Bobbie, Shelly, Billy, Leah, Beth, and Isaac; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Allen.
