Robert William Adolph was born on November 17, 1935, in Maine Prairie Township, Stearns County, Minnesota, to parents, Theodore and Catherine (Becker) Adolph. He lived and worked on his family farm and attended school in Kimball, graduating in 1954. He married Beverly 'Bev' Ferguson in 1970 in Hennepin County and the couple had 2 sons together: Ray and Jerry. They made their home in Kimball. Bob ran heavy equipment, building roads all over the state of Minnesota, in addition to farming with his brother, Jack. Bob was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 for 43 years, working most of his years with Forest Lake Contracting, where he made and retained many friendships that lasted throughout his life. Bob was a social, active man who was always up for a cup of coffee or a coke, a visit, and a few hands of cards. He enjoyed ice fishing and spearing in the winter with Ray and Jerry, as well as his casino getaways with Bev. After his retirement in 1998, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Teddy and Jade, Ranger rides with the ever faithful Ollie riding shotgun and Luke trying to beat them to any destination, gardening, driving for A.M. Maus, helping his nephews in the field, and playing cards with his numerous friends. His family and friends will always remember him as a happy and hardworking man, who valued his family and close friends above all else.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bev; son, Ray, daughter-in-law, Ada, and their son, Theodore; son, Jerry, daughter-in-law, Heather, and their children Jade, Isabella (Michael) Fitzgerald, Alexander Cromwell, and Vincent Cromwell; great grandchildren, Michael, Jr. and Lincoln Fitzgerald; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Catherine; his siblings, Alice (Nick) Becker, Marie (Clyde) Alberg, Dick (Donna) Adolph, and Jack (Betty) Adolph; and many close relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Home Instead Home Care - specifically Jolene; as well as Ecumen Home Hospice - specifically Shelly and Mandy "Tootsie" for their kind and loving care of Bob.
