Richard L. Serbus, age 84, of Kimball, died Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Kimball with Fr. James Statz officiating. Walk through visitation will be held from 9:30-10:45 at the church. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Services will be live streamed.
Richard Leon Serbus was born February 26, 1936 in Bird Island to Peter and Mabel (Minkel) Serbus. They lived in Bird Island until moving to Kimball when Rich was in the 1st grade. Richard lived the rest of his life in the Kimball area. He served his country with the US Air Force. On September 24, 1962, he was united in marriage to Constance Loesch at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. As a Teamster Union member, Dick worked as a heavy equipment operator in road construction. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the Wild Turkey Federation and the NRA. Rich was an outdoorsman that enojoyed to hunt, fish and occasionally golf. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and his passion of sharing that love with others.
He is survived by his wife, Connie of Kimball; sons, Mark (Julie) Serbus of Laughlin, NV and Monte (Amy) Serbus of Kimball; grandchildren, Hannah and Megan Serbus; step-grandchildren, Rayell Berscheid and Raychel Rooney; step great grandchildren, Dominik Rooney, AunaRissa Berscheid and Amadeus Berscheid; brothers and sisters, Donald (Eileen) Serbus of Kimball, Gordon (Kathi) Serbus of Kimball, Cathy (Bill) Russell of Serasota, FL, Peggy (Jack) Purcell of Annandale and Randy (Margaret) Serbus of New London; sister-in-law, Dorothee Serbus of Kimball; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mabel; brothers, Robert and Dennis; sister-in-law, Patsy Serbus; niece, Stacy Purcell; and nephew, Colin Serbus.
