Obituary
Richard E. Klemz, age 67, of Maple Lake died on April 23, 2022 after a short battle with melanoma cancer.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Maple Lake with visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Rev. Culynn Curtis will officiate. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Richard Eugene Klemz was born to Marguerite and Ervin Klemz at the St. Cloud hospital on June 24, 1954. He was baptized, confirmed, and married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Silver Creek and attended school in Annandale. Dick lived in Corinna Township his entire life. On July 13, 1974, he married Connie Engel. They were blessed with three children and five grandchildren. Richard was a master mechanic, working many years at Lake Region Coop in Maple Lake. In 2001, he opened Dick's Tire and Auto until his retirement in 2021.
Dick's hobbies include tinkering in his shop, building with wood and metal, competing in demo derbies, working on and driving muscle cars, and socializing with friends. It was always a recipe for laughter and good times whenever Dick arrived! His wit and ability to make people laugh was part of his charm and something that his family and friends loved about him. He was definitely one of a kind.
He is survived by his wife, Connie of Maple Lake; children, Rich Klemz of Howard Lake, Vicki Klemz (Melissa Joseph) of Otsego, and Amanda (Kory) Kunze of Oriska, ND; five grandchildren, Rylie, Espen, Jayda, Mikayla, and Jentz; brother, Gerald (Sharon) Klemz; and sister, Marlys (Thomas) Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Marguerite Klemz.
The casket bearers will be Jake Paumen, Paul Braun, Gerry Mahler, Jason Williams, Gerald Klemz, Jr., and Loren Lee. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
