Richard "Dick" Hogan, age 89, of Maple Lake, died on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery in Maple Lake. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 28 and 9-10 a.m. on Friday, July 29, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake.
Richard James Hogan was born June 22, 1933 in rural Maple Lake to Richard and Margaret (Bullock) Hogan. He grew up in Maple Lake, graduating from Maple Lake High School with the Class of 1951. He served his country in the U.S. Army. After Dick's military service, he returned to business college in Minneapolis for accounting. He had a long career in accounting and tax preparation. On April 11, 1959, Dick was united in marriage to Carol Dalbec at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. They lived most of their married life in Maple Lake, where they raised their family and were members at St. Timothy Catholic Church. Dick served as the clerk for Maple Lake Township for 42 years. He enjoyed anything he could do in the outdoors. He also enjoyed following Minnesota sports teams and taking trips to the casino or to his cabin. Dicks greatest joy came from being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; five children, Shannon of Maple Lake, Rick (Lori) of Clearwater, Tammy (Jerry) Schaufler of Maple Lake, Joe (Lori) of Maple Lake, and John of Maple Lake; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Travis, Amber, Adam, Molly, Abby, Hilary, and Nate; and two great-grandchildren, Leighton and Harlow. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank; and sister, Geraldine Oestreich.
Dick's grandchildren will serve as urn bearers. Krista Elsenpeter and Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service. The Minnesota Army National Guard Honor Guard will provide military Honors. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
