Richard Arthur Cargill

Richard A. Cargill, age 71, of San Tan Valley, AZ, formerly Annandale, died Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at The Villa Hospice House in Mesa, AZ.

Public viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale. Family will not be present for the viewing; masks and distancing will be required in the building. Private funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2020 with Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Southside Cemetery. The funeral and committal will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.

Richard Arthur Cargill was born March 26, 1949 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Ervin and Gloria (Stueve) Cargill. He grew up in Brooklyn Park and graduated from Osseo High School with the Class of 1967. He moved to Lake John in Annandale. He worked as a truck driver for Nabisco and owned and operated a bar and restaurant, Ricardo's, in Annandale. He enjoyed fishing, having a cold Budweiser, going to flea markets and driving his Jeep. Richard took pride in his yard and loved landscaping it. He cherished the time that he was able to spend with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Brad Cargill of Annandale and John (Melita) Cargill of Big Lake; mother, Gloria Cargill of Coon Rapids; six grandchildren, Lila, Piper, Charli, Dylan, Riley and Chevelle; and sister Rebecca (Al) Matheson of Blaine. He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin "Pete" Cargill; twin brother, Roger Cargill; brother, Randy Cargill; and sister, Robin Ray.
