Patricia Knickerbocker Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Knickerbocker, age 69, of Annandale, formerly of Minneapolis, died Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Committal Service will be held Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. The funeral will be live-streamed on the funeral home website. Memorials are preferred to Tunnels 2 Towers or U.S. Navy SEAL Foundation.

Patricia Ann Knickerbocker was born July 28, 1952, at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Albert and Helen (Scholtes) Mitzel. Pat grew up in South Minneapolis, along with her 3 siblings. In 1970, she graduated from Regina High School. On December 18, 1971, Pat was united in marriage to Robert Knickerbocker at Holy Rosary Church in Minneapolis. They made their home in south Minneapolis with their two children, Erin and Ryan. Pat worked as an administrative assistant to the Chief of Orthopedics at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. Pat grew up going to the family cabin on East Lake Sylvia near Annandale, and in 2015, she and Rob made the move to become permanent lake residents. Pat was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale, as well as a former member of Annunciation and Holy Rosary Catholic Churches in Minneapolis. Pat enjoyed watching soap operas, reading, golfing, going for pontoon rides, and "snow birding" in Gulf Shores, AL. She loved to travel across the United States, as well as Ireland and New Zealand. Above all, Pat cherished the time she was able to spend with her family, her friends, and especially with her 2 grandchildren, Ava and Nora.

Pat is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert of Annandale; children, Erin Tjepkes of Minneapolis, and Ryan (Kim) Knickerbocker of Big Lake; 2 adoring granddaughters, Ava and Nora Tjepkes; siblings, Ronald (Mary) Mitzel of Roseville, Dennis Mitzel of Deephaven, and Tom (Sarah) Mitzel of Annandale; and many other family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Krista Elsenpeter and Shannon Paumen will provide music for the service. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
