Olga Hulda Howell was born April 1, 1925 in New Effington, South Dakota to Adolf and Hulda (Polnau) Konn. She was baptized on July 5, 1925 and confirmed on July 24, 1938 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sisseton, South Dakota. Olga attended the Old Effington Independent one room school for 8 years and the New Effington High School, where she graduated with the class of 1943. Following graduation, Olga was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture with farm programs until her marriage. Olga was united in marriage to Herschuel Howell on October 22, 1954; to this union three children were born, Samuel, Daniel and Gregory.

Olga was faithful to her church. She was a member of the Altar Guild, Bible studies and volunteered in various areas of the church. One of her greatest joys was being the founder of Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater. Olga planted the seed for this church by writing a letter of inquiry to the ELCA Synod regarding the starting of a church in Clearwater. It was a very rewarding experience for her.

Olga was a devoted homemaker and was known among her friends for her pies. She was a member of the Annandale Care Center Auxiliary and Camp Friendship Auxiliary. Olga enjoyed card games, shopping and her grandchildren. She treasured her friends here and the Iowa Street friends she had in Arizona.

She is survived by her husband, Herschuel of Annandale; three sons and their spouses, Samuel and Karen (Hayes) of Bloomington, Daniel and Dianne (Gustin) of Rosemount and Gregory and Rebecca (Olson) of Cokato; seven grandchildren, Evan, Tim, Benjamin, Madeline, James, David and Michael. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Adam Hayes Howell; her parents; one brother, Melvin; two sisters, Martha and Ella; and one nephew, Calvin Konn.

Pallbearers will be Jim Hobbs and Dave Hobbs, Jeff Konn, Dale Rhoe, Gene Wadman and Clifford Franzen. Pam Wolfe, Samone Ekholm and Orma Lou Jacobsma will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
