Words will never describe what an impact Mr. H had on my life. Countless hours were spent before and after school in his classroom working on homework, and trying to understand math. He always went out of his way to make me, and every student, feel special and important and I'm very thankful for that. I am so deeply saddened by his passing; this world and MLHS will not be the same without his smile and jokes. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Thanks for everything, Mr. H.❤ I will never forget you and the role you've played in my life.

Mike was in my class in school and I was so sad to read his obituary this morning. But it was a beautiful thing to read about his full life. He gave much to many and wasted not a moment. Surely, he set an example for us all.

Mr H, I never got the honor of knowing you personally. But I just have to say Wow, you have made such a difference in so many kids lives and you will be truly missed by so many. Im so blessed that my son Peyton got to be in your class and sad that Kayla wont get to experience it. You are truly loved by so many people, from years and years of students you made a difference in these young lives. You were meant to be a teacher. It is impossible to find the right words to describe the sadness that I feel. With your passing, I have not only lost a colleague, but a best friend for the past 21 years. We had a lot of fun throughout those years. I cherish all of the memories. I miss you dearly my friend. Life will never be the same without you.
Eternal rest grant onto him oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. My he rest in peace.

Mr. H taught all 11 of my siblings. The amazing part is he actually remembered most of them too. And every single one of them said the kindest words about him. The most popular ones were "he brings in doughnuts, will cone in early or stay late to help you, and that he plays music during tests." He sounded great, however, math had always been a struggle for me. When I had my first algebra class with Mr. H I was beyond nervous, but, one of the very first things he said to the class was, "You WILL pass this class. Everyone will. I'll do whatever it takes. " He even made an effort to look every student in the eye to reassure us even more so. At that moment I knew Mr. H was irreplaceable. He will forever be remembered in Maple Lake. People will only have to say that one letter in the alphabet, H, and we'll just know.
Love,
The Loch Family
