Mary L. Berscheid, age 69, of Kimball, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 17, 2020.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball with Pastor Jerry Albert officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the funeral home. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Kimball American Legion Club Post 261.
Mary Louise Berscheid was born October 3, 1950 in Litchfield, Minnesota to Marcellous "Sam" and Edna (Bratz) Clayton. Mary grew up in South Haven and attended school in Annandale. On December 2, 1966, Mary was united in marriage to Valentine "Val" Berscheid in Esterville, Iowa. Mary and Val made their home in Kingston Township, where they raised their four children. Mary worked in the collections department for various companies during her working career, with Jefferson Capital in St. Cloud being her most recent place of employment. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed embroidering, cooking and baking for holidays, trying her luck with scratch off tickets, and taking fishing trips. Above all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Val of Kimball; children, Julie (Mark) Serbus of Laughlin, Nevada, Sue (Scott) Berscheid of Darwin, James (Sheryl) Berscheid of Buffalo, and Kim (Gene) Berscheid of Foley; 12 grandchildren, Rayell, Raychel, Steven (Sam), Brentt (Heather), Amanda, Tabitha (Brian), Candi (Erik), Angie (Jim), Dylan (Sadie), Kaylee (Tyler), Codey, and Kayden; 16 great-grandchildren, AunaRissa, Amadeus, Dominik, Zoey, Sophie, Valerie, Brealynn, Allie, Barrett, Brian, Kohl, Mason, Sabrrina, Hannah, Mackenzie, and Ethan; siblings, Lois Reid of Annandale, Margie Cleveland of Annandale, Shirley Marquette of Richmond, and Katie (Paul) Hanson of Cold Spring; and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carrie Jo; daughter-in-law, Diane; and brothers-in-law, Lyle Reid and Gayle Cleveland.
