Marvin J. Adolph, age 95, of Kingston Township, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his home with his daughters at his side.
A private funeral service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 with Fr. Tom Olson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery, Kimball. Memorials are preferred to the CentraCare Foundation in support of the Heart and Vascular Center.
Marvin John Adolph was born January 7, 1926 in Maine Prairie Township to William and Irene (Becker) Adolph. He grew up in the Kimball area. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy; serving during WWII on the USS Clinton, USS Iowa and USS Los Angeles. On June 26, 1948, he was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Ackerman in Watkins. They lived in the Minneapolis metro area prior to moving to the South Haven area to raise their family. Marvin was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Kimball and the Kimball American Legion for 52 years. Marvin was an extremely organized and strong-willed man. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, satisfying his sweet tooth, watching life drive by from his front yard, and maintaining his lawn in accordance with the standards of a golf course.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie (Michael) Galloway of Phillips, WI, Vikki (Tim) Donnay of Outing, MN, and Sharon (Jeff) Reitmeier of Cold Spring, MN; daughter-in-law, Benita Adolph of Kimball; sister, Corrine Colton of Sierra Vista, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Charles, Joe and an infant; brothers, Donald, Ken and Bill; and sister, Darlene Jacobson.
The casket bearers will be Blaine Adolph, Jacob, Jeremy and Landen Reitmeier, Tim and Phillip Donnay. The Kimball American Legion Post #261 will provide military honors. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
