    Marie I. Pope, age 103, of St. Cloud, died Saturday December 20, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pearl Lake with Fr. Ron Weyrens as the Celebrant.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Friday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball and one hour prior to the service, Saturday, at the church.  A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Holy Cross Catholic Church.

    Marie Irene Pope was born August 13, 1911 in Rockville Township, Kimball to Joseph and Margaret (Bichler) Scheeler.  On May 13, 1944, she was united in marriage to Frank Pope at St. Mary Cathedral in St. Cloud.  Frank & Marie never had children of their own but were like second parents to their numerous nieces and nephews.  Marie worked as a beautician and seamstress for many years.  She also raised chickens and drove the eggs and milk to market.  Marie was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake for 103 years; she was active with Christian Mothers and St. Jude Mission Group. 

    She is survived by her sisters and brothers Margaret Grams of St. Cloud, Aloys Scheeler of Kimball, Laura Pope of St. Cloud, Rosella (Harold) Smoley of St. Cloud, Clarence (Gertrude) Scheeler of Kimball and Raphael (Esther) Scheeler of St. Cloud; many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Margaret Scheeler; husband Frank Pope; sisters Alvina Knott, Regina Krippner and Elsie Pope; brother Jerome Scheeler; brothers-in-law Victor Krippner, Ben Grams, Daniel Pope, Nick Knott, and Wheeler Pope; and sisters-in-law Christine Scheeler and Laverne Scheeler.

    The pallbearers will be Travis and Justin Pope, Daryl Scheeler, Audra Massetti, Mande Thul and Ronald Smoley.  Julene Faber-Andrusick will provide the music for the service.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
