Leonard E. Lueders, age 77, of South Haven, died Saturday, November 27 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kimball with Pastor David Milz officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in Fairhaven. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website.
Leonard Ervin Lueders was born November 2, 1944 in Cokato, Minnesota to Ervin and Marjorie (Gunderson) Lueders. He grew up near Lake Caroline in Fairhaven Township. Leonard attended school in both Annandale and Kimball, graduating in 1962. Following his graduation, Lenny honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge, he returned to the South Haven area. He was united in marriage to Pauline Espelund, and they later divorced. They were blessed with two children, Lisa and Jason. Leonard married Diane Cleveland, and they were blessed with a son, David. Leonard worked for various construction companies, before working as a machine operator for Frigidaire/Electrolux until his retirement. Lenny was a member of the Kimball American Legion, as well as a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where his faith played an important role in his daily life. Lenny enjoyed spending time on his hobby farm with his animals. He liked to read and was a history enthusiast. He had a passion for automobiles, fishing, and hunting.
He is survived by his children, Lisa (Tom) Wittrock of South Haven, Jason (Dawn) Lueders of Kimball, and David (Steph) Lueders of South Haven; 6 grandchildren, Khala Kronenberg, Brady Engen, Zya and Andrew Lueders, and Eli and Beau Lueders; 1 great-grandchild, Payton Jones; stepchildren, Allison (Doug Barthel) Caird of South Haven and John (Meggan) Caird of Annandale; and other family members and friends. Lenny was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marian Schlueter; and stepson, Ryan Laney.
Lenny's grandchildren will serve as urn bearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Service of Kimball.
