Kenneth Larsen Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Larsen, age 83, of South Haven, MN passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at his winter home in Pharr, TX.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Friday, January 21, 2022 at Heartland Evangelical Free Church in Annandale, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dennis Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairhaven Cemetery in Fairhaven Township. The funeral will be livestreamed on the Dingmann Funeral Care website.

Kenneth Webster Larsen was born December 19, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN and was adopted from a children's orphanage at the age of 7 months by Russell and Ruth (Skaug) Larsen. He grew up in the Minneapolis area and graduated with the class of 1956 from South High School. He began his hands-on education at the young age of 14 when he acquired his own gas station, working as a mechanic. Ken served his country in the US Air Force. On November 13, 1974 he was united in marriage to his wife, Donna, and they made their home on Lake Sylvia in South Haven, MN. Ken was owner & broker of his own real estate company, Village Properties, Inc in Annandale, MN for almost 50 years.

Ken enjoyed traveling, exploring the terrains wherever he went, snowmobiling in the winters, trail leading for a snowmobile club, motorcycling, boating, and maintaining his resort. Most of all, Ken enjoyed fixing anything & everything; he was known for this by family and friends, and was often called upon by neighbors in the community during his winters in Texas. Ken always took the time and patience to explain in detail how to fix or learn something, in many areas from mechanics to waterskiing! Ken's favorite charities helped support orphaned, abandoned or hurting children; one such charity was Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; adult children, Ken Larsen of Cannon Falls, MN, Doug (Jenny) Hennum of Colorado Springs, CO, Sherri (Dave) Swagger of Lake City, MN, Sue (Brian) Lehman of Breezy Point, MN, and Tim (Gretchen) Hennum of the Vail Valley of CO; grandchildren, Kristina (James) Krautbauer, Kristopher (Rachel) Hennum, Jeremy (Stephanie) Swagger, Aaron (Renae) Lehman, Nathan Lehman, Nikki (Kyler) Hinrichs, Megan (Gustavo) Rodriguez, Emily Hennum, Viktoriya (Eli) Mueller, Katelin Hennum, Ethan Lehman, Jesse Swagger, Michael Swagger, Aidan Larsen, and Sydney Larsen; seven great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The casket bearers will be Ken Larsen, Aidan Larsen, Michael Swagger, Jesse Swagger, Ethan Lehman, Nathan Lehman, Doug Hennum and Tim Hennum. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale, MN.
