Joyce Quast Obituary

Joyce A. Quast, age 65, of Annandale, formerly of Kimball, died Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

A service in Celebration of Joyce's life will take place at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with a visitation from 2-4 p.m. Pastor Jerry Albert will officiate the celebration. Joyce Ann Quast was born August 7, 1954 in St. Cloud to Joseph and Donna (Weisman) Steichen. She grew up in Kimball, graduating from Kimball High School with the Class of 1972. Joyce was married to Mark Hendrickson and they moved to Winsted; they were later divorced. She met Douglas Quast in Winsted and they were united in marriage on January 31, 1985 at the Methodist Church in Howard Lake. They made Lester Prairie their home for over 20 years, prior to moving to Kimball in 2005. They retired to Annandale in 2018.

Joyce worked as a CNA at Hilltop Nursing Home in Watkins, a CNA, Rehabilitation Aid and Adult Day Care assistant at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted and as an EMT for Health Central and Health One in Winsted. She went back to school at Hutchinson Technical College and earned her degree in Practical Nursing in 1992. Joyce worked as a nurse at Arlington Nursing Home in Arlington and Elim Nursing Home in Watertown. She retired as the nursing manager at Heritage House of Kimball in 2018.

Joyce enjoyed crocheting, spending time with family, camping, and watching the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings. She had a passion for taking care of people that was evident in the way she adopted people into her family and how she performed her duties as a nurse. Joyce made friends everywhere she went. At the core of her life was her family; they will miss her dearly.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Doug; daughter, Robin (Brandon) Bollingmo of Buffalo; son, Joey (Emilie) Hendrickson of Rice; granddaughter, Madeline; sisters, Gloria (Charlie) Olson of South Haven and JoAnne (Chuck) Weiland of Mayer; nephews and niece, Aaron (Bria) Olson, Trent Olson, Kara (Carl) Bunes and Cody (Rachael) Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marcella and Raymond Quast.
