Joyce Louise Burnett was born July 10, 1947 in Fargo, North Dakota to John and Genevieve (Nordstrom) Burnett. Joyce grew up in Moorhead, where she graduated high school in 1965. She then attended Minnesota Bible College in Minneapolis. It was there that Joyce met the love of life, Gerald Albert. On June 17, 1967, they were united in marriage at Church of Christ in Forest Lake. Together, they partnered in dedicating their lives to ministry and the service of others. In 1981, Jerry and Joyce arrived in Kimball and have been an integral part of both their church and local community since. They were proud to call Kimball their home. Joyce enjoyed quilting, reading, sewing, and crocheting. She had a love of music; she shared her voice with many ministries, congregations, and clubs over the years. Her passion for her faith and family will be deeply missed.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Gerald) Volk of Watertown, SD; son, Jonathan (Kathleen) Albert of Parks, AZ; grandchildren, Kendra (Graiden) Keil, Carter, Cheyenne, Shelby, Alyssa, and Nolan Volk, Miranda (Hunter) Berggren, Monte and Melodie Albert; great-grandsons, Jason, Logan, and Weston Keil; siblings, Judy (Jim) Bowlby of Detroit Lakes and John (Gina) Burnett of Parker, CO; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jerry; and her parents.
Joyce's grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Music for the service will be provided by Robert and Penny Blanchard, Lori Miller, Shari Goff, Tracy Bruns, and Riley Fournier. Arrangements entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Kimball.
