Joseph M. Monda, age 76, formerly of Minneapolis, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital with his children by his side.
Graveside Services will be held 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area # 4.
Joseph Michael Monda was born December 30, 1945, in Portland, Oregon, to Joseph and Suzanne (Hibben) Monda. Joe grew up in Portland, where he attended high school, graduating in 1963. Following his graduation, he entered the United States Navy, where he honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. In December of 1968, he was united in marriage to Nancy Olson; raising and co-parenting their two children after divorcing. Joe graduated in 1970 from Northwestern Electronic Institute. He worked as an electronics technician for Sears, retiring after 30 years. Joe was a member of the Minnesota Bonsai Society, winning first place ribbons at the Minnesota State Fair. He loved to spend time fishing and being in nature. He will be remembered for his compassion for animals and his creative abilities. His favorite times in his later years were traveling with his loving companion, Carole, taking road trips across the US, Canada, and to her home in Guatemala.
Joe is survived by his children, Jodi (Scott) Wroblewski of Annandale and Anthony (Kimberly) Monda of Vadnais Heights; 3 grandchildren, Sara, Dominique, and Brody; and 2 great-grandchildren, Paige and Aidan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Suzanne.
