John Treadwell Obituary

John "Jack" Treadwell, age 85, of South Haven, formerly of Maple Lake and Brooklyn Park, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake with visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Pastor Culynn Curtis will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.

John Harvey Treadwell was born September 12, 1936 in Manitowoc, WI to Harvey and Johnette (Spoentgen) Treadwell. He attended a Catholic elementary school close to his home before graduating from Lincoln High School in Manitowac. He was united in marriage to Marion Pokorski on December 26, 1959 in Manitowoc, WI. John served his country in Honolulu, HI with the U.S. Army. After making their start in Hololulu, Jack and Marion moved to Manitowoc, WI for a short time prior to moving to Brooklyn Park, MN to raise their family. They moved to Maple Lake in 1991. Marion died on December 14, 2006 at the age of 66. Jack again found love and was married to Mary Johnson on December 21, 2019. They lived in Maple Lake until moving to South Haven.

Jack worked in the baking industry for numerous different companies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, spending time at his hobby horse farm and the simple pleasure that comes with being in the great outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Debbie Bradley of Rockford, David (Debbie) Treadwell of Maple Lake, Shelly (Steven) Hughes of St. Michael, and Mary Jo (Dave) Eidenschink of Rogers; 8 grandchildren, Mark, Bob, Jonathan, John, Katie, Amber, Brian and Joe; and 6 great-grandchildren, Vayda, Ollie, Lela, Evie, Hunter, and Max. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Johnette; first wife, Marion; and sister, Lois Nebel.

The urn bearers will be Katie Treadwell, Amber Turner, Brian Eidenschink and Joe Eidenschink. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
