John Pederson Obituary

John E. Pederson, age 65, of Annandale, died Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Annandale Care Center as a result of Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Heartland Evangelical Free Church in Annandale with Pastor Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar with Pastor Michael Bechtold officiating. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale and one hour prior to the service on Friday, at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.

John Edward Pederson was born February 23, 1956 in Litchfield, Minnesota to John and Arlene (Shelstad) Pederson. John lived in Litchfield for a short time, prior to his family moving to Willmar. Following his graduation from Willmar High School in 1974, John attended Willmar Community College. He worked for 5 years as a bookkeeper for Jackson Public Schools. He then enrolled in Southwest State University where John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and met his future wife, Connie Funk. They were united in marriage on June 23, 1984 at First Presbyterian Church in Fulda. They relocated to Tucson, Arizona for two years, before moving to the Annandale area in 1987. John worked as an accountant for 23 years for Lakedale Telephone Company. He was a member of Heartland Evangelical Free Church in Annandale, as well as the Elks Club in Willmar, and served as a member of the Annandale Planning and Zoning Committee for over 10 years. In 2010, John was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. John enjoyed hunting ducks and geese, and watching old television shows from the 1960s and 70s. He loved to travel, and simply being in the presence of his family, whom he deeply loved.

He is survived by his wife, Connie of Wyndmere, ND; children, Heather (Donald) Ashwood of Chandler, OK, and Jesseca Pederson (Brent Kuhlmey) of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Aiden Ashwood and Avery Kuhlmey; sisters, Cindy (Kerry) Bacon of Cambridge and Pat (Mark) Johnson of Spicer; nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Arlene.
