John Isidore Harren

John "Hunts" Harren, age 80, died Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Assumption Senior Living Community in Cold Spring, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Luxemburg with Fr. Erik Lundgren as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, both at Mary Hall at St. Wendelin Church. Memorials are preferred.

John Isidore Harren was born July 17, 1942, to Benedict and Eleanor (Janson) Harren in St. Cloud, Minnesota. On July 10, 1965, John was united in marriage to Sylvia Salzbrun at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Together they raised their family in the Luxemburg area. Hunts dedicated 42 years of work to Cold Spring Granite. He also farmed his entire life. Hunts enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. Hunts liked to travel. Some of his favorite trips were to Alaska to visit Sylvia's brothers, Nashville with his kids, and to Medora. Over the years, Hunts attended many, many ballgames to watch and cheer on his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Hunts is survived by his children, Dennis (Amy) Harren of St. Cloud, Thomas (Kristy) Harren of St. Augusta, and Julie (Butch) Stang of St. Augusta; 6 grandchildren, Ben, Henry, Oliver, Jarrett, Victoria Harren, and Tyler Stang; siblings, Joey (Jeanie) Harren of St. Augusta, MaryLou Luebesmier of St. Cloud, Victor (Jackie) Harren of St. Augusta, Jeanie Hennen of St. Cloud, Marlene (Tom) Iten of St. Cloud, Rosie (Bob) Harren of St. Cloud, Ron (Terry) Harren of St. Augusta, Peter (LouAnn) Harren of Rockville. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; parents, Benedict and Eleanor; and brothers, Robert, Ralph, and Richard. 

Hunt's grandchildren will serve as urn bearers. Mary Neidermeier and St. Wendelin Choir will provide music for the service. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Kimball.
