Joel Thomas Williams

Joel T. Williams, age 65, of Annandale, died Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Buffalo Hospital.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at Annandale Methodist Church in Annandale with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Paul Baker will officiate. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website. Memorials are preferred to the family. The church and the family request that attendees wear a mask at the service.

Joel Thomas Williams was born January 7, 1956 in Minneapolis to LeRoy and Maryan (Stoltman) Williams. He grew up in Bloomington, graduating with the Class of 1974 from Thomas Jefferson High School in Bloomington. On August 6, 1982, he was united in marriage to Linda Grant in Bloomington. They lived in Bloomington until moving to Annandale in 2001. Joe worked as an excavator for Marv Anderson Construction in Bloomington, owned and operated Apple Excavation in Bloomington, and worked for the Lake County Highway Department. While he was slowed down by colon cancer in recent years, he still liked to work some hobby jobs. Joe enjoyed working, excavating, cutting wood, growing pumpkins, fishing in the ocean, traveling in the camper and wintering in Florida. He had a joy for things that went "boom" and was even a member of the Pyrotechnics Guild.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Angie (Drew) Benko of Bloomington, Brad Williams of Burnsville, and Cassidy (Jerame) Kuyper of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Joe and Henry Benko, Quintin and Maddex Kuyper; brothers, Tom Williams (Melissa Kilgard) of Bloomington and Jeff Williams of Glencoe; sister, Mary Jo (Kevin) Anderson of Blooming Prairie; and brother-in-law, Dave Reger. He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Maryan; sister, Justine Reger; and brothers, John and Jimmy Williams.

The urn bearers will be Brett Massee, Bill Larson, Gary Neslund, and Bunky Sandretsky. Jacque Vanderlinde will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
