Jerry L. Anderson, age 64, of Annandale, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from lung cancer at his home under hospice care.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held from 12-4 p.m. with a Remembrance Service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Lampi Auction. The Remembrance Service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Jerry Lee Anderson was born June 6, 1957 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Harold and Lillian (Kostelecky) Anderson. Jerry grew up in Battle Lake, Minnesota, where he graduated high school in 1974. Following his graduation, Jerry moved to Annandale where he has made his home since. Over the years Jerry worked as a machinist for various companies, with ICA Corp. in Dayton being his most recent. Jerry was a professional wrestler, known as Mago; he wrestled as part of a tagteam with Sterling Nolan "STX" and were known as High Rollers. In addition to his love of wrestling, Jerry was also a baseball enthusiast, often attending the Minnesota Twins spring training season in Florida and traveling to ball games while the team was on the road. Jerry fought and beat pancreatic cancer. He was later diagnosed with and died from lung cancer. Jerry was an advocate for cancer patients and a spokesperson for Minnesota NORML, an organization that promoted reformation of marijuana laws. Jerry will be remembered for his drive to entertain and his love for his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his faithful four-legged companion, Poncho; siblings, Jocelyn (Tom) Givens of Monmouth, OR, Tom (Kellie) of Ramsey, and Paul (Len) of Maple Grove; nieces and nephews, Jesse (Yanet), Abbie, and Sammy Givens, Kassie (Danny) Rinnet, Andy, Christopher, and Jacob Anderson; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaden, Joshua, Jesse Jr., Gabby, Reilly, and Clara; and many beloved, friends, colleagues, and fans. He was preceded in death by his parents.
