Ida E. Schaefer, age 94, of Buffalo, formerly of Marty, died Friday, January 29, 2016 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake with Fr. Ronald Weyrens as the Celebrant.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the funeral, Tuesday, at the church.  A prayer service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.

    Ida Eva Schaefer was born July 1, 1921 in Marty to Charles and Ida (Schreiber) Schneider.  She grew up and lived her entire life in Marty.  On November 24, 1945, Ida was united in marriage to Vernon Douglas Schaefer at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marty.  Their Union was blessed with five children, twenty-four grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.  Ida was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.  She enjoyed crocheting blankets for her grandchildren, baking, preparing family meals and spending time with friends, family and grandchildren.

    She is survived by her children & their spouses Ida & John Kelsey of North Aurora, IL, Virginia & Thomas Triplett of Delano, Stephen & Roberta Schaefer of O’Fallon, IL, Michael & Jeannie Schaefer of Buffalo, and Ellen & Charles Lett of Springfield, MO; brother & his spouse Gregor & Juletta Schneider of St. Cloud; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ida Schneider; husband Vernon Schaefer; grandsons Joseph Triplett and Joshua Kelsey; and brothers Alexander and Alfred Schneider.

    The casket bearers will be Ida’s grandchildren.  Julene Faber-Andrusick will provide the music for the service.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
