Gordon R. Yager, age 74, of Montrose, formerly of Maple Lake, died Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Buffalo Hospital.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Culynn Curtis will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by the Maple Lake American Legion and VFW Honor Guard and the Army National Guard Honor Guard.
Gordon Raymond Yager was born May 18, 1947 in St. Cloud to Raymond and Viola (McCoy) Yager. He grew up in Maple Lake. He served his country with the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. Gordy lived most of his life in Maple Lake prior to living at A.J. Acres in Clearwater during the summer months and Texas in the winter months; most recently, he was living in Montrose. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, collecting vintage cars, and going to a good party with his friends. In his younger years, Gordy also enjoyed four wheeling and motorcycling.
He is survived by his daughters, Stacy (Joel) Schatz of Dickinson, ND and Jodi Yager (Mark Hood) of Chandler, AZ; four grandchildren; sister, Mary (Craig) Probst of Montrose; brother-in-law, Lyle (Donna) Miller; and nieces and nephews, Michael Probst (Beth), Daniel Probst (Shelby), Melissa (Chris) Thorston, Bill (Gwen) Miller and Denise (Ralph) Miles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Yager and Viola Yager-Stumpf; and sister, Shirley Miller.
