Gerald G. Stuhr, 83, died peacefully at sunrise on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, following a three year battle with pulmonary fibrosis disease.
A memorial Mass and celebration of Gerald’s life is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Church of St. Timothy, Maple Lake. Visitation and luncheon to follow the service at The V by HH, Maple Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Timothy’s School, Maple Lake.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Gladys (Logeais) of over 60 years; children, Mike (Julie), Chris (Mary), Jona (Jeff), Jeff (Valerie); and foster-son, Tab Abraham (Mary); 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; siblings and spouses, Naomi Fobbe, Marge Stuhr, Harry Stuhr (Judy), Kenneth Stuhr (Mani); and many other family members.
Gerald lived in Annandale on Bass Lake, fondly referred to as Serenity Cove, where much fun and many family celebrations were had. He enjoyed working in his garden, hunting, fishing and playing Texas Hold’em.
Gerald graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1963 with a degree in Vocational Education. After dedicating his career to helping students develop the skills needed for advancing in their careers, he retired in 1995. Gerald’s final contribution to education was donating his body to the U of M so that future doctors could learn more about this in-curable disease.
