George J. Vigoren, age 61, of Kimball died of Leukemia on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the University of Minnesota Hospital, Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Hope Covenant Church, 336 4th Ave S, St. Cloud with Rev. Bill Dornbush officiating. Interment will be in Lake Union Covenant Cemetery, South Haven. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Lloyd Melvie officiating. Memorials are preferred to the Leukemia Foundation.
George J. Vigoren was born July 13, 1945 in Minneapolis to Roy and Evelyn (Lehmann) Vigoren. Upon completion of his service in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War he graduated from the University of Minnesota. He has lived at Kimball since 1974 and married Barbara Trentacosti on February 5, 1982 in Stillwater. George was a self-employed training consultant and a member of Hope Covenant Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and singing.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Trentacosti) Vigoren of Kimball; 3 daughters, Kendra & Kelsey Vigoren of Kimball, Amy Trentacoste of Minneapolis; sister, Marty Matula of Clearwater, FL; brothers & their wives, Gerald & Judy of Green Valley, AZ, Jack & Margie of Maple Plain, Bob & Lourdes of Dallas, TX, Paul of Minneapolis, Doug & Sandy of Minneapolis; also many nieces and nephews. His parents and sister, Janet preceded him in death.
The pallbearers will be Kendra, Jack, Bob, Paul & Doug Vigoren, and Lanny Lundquist. The music for the service will be provided by the Hope Covenant Church Choir, Cheryl Larson, pianist, and Kendra, Doug & Jack Vigoren, vocalists. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
