Eugene Mathew Bublitz

Eugene "Gene" Bublitz, age 87, of Kimball, died Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball with a prayer service at 6 p.m.

Eugene Mathew Bublitz was born January 27, 1935, in Hollandale, Minnesota to Aden and Viola (Hentges) Bublitz. As a boy, Gene moved with his family to Minneapolis. In 1953, he graduated from Marshall High School in southeast Minneapolis. On December 7, 1957, he was united in marriage to Yvonne S. Loesch. In 1964, Gene and Yvonne moved to Carnelian Lake to raise their family. Gene was a truck driver and owner for 13 years, before joining Local #49 as a heavy equipment operator. He worked on many construction projects in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the surrounding areas. Gene enjoyed ice fishing, woodworking, and reading.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne; children, Cindy (Ed) Stein of Kimball, Linda (Chuck) Schoolmeesters of Litchfield, and Brad Bublitz of Kimball; 5 grandchildren, Nikki, Kelly, Adam, Blaine, and Alec; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Luann (Jim) Jackson and Ed (Charlene) Bublitz; and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his father, Aden Bublitz; mother, Viola Johnson; stepfather, Olin Johnson; siblings, Frank Bublitz Sr., and Corrine Konkler.
