Elsie Stein, age 88, of Kimball, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Kimball with Fr. Thomas Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Maine Prairie Cemetery, Kimball. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Elsie Stein was born December 24, 1929, at home in NE Minneapolis to Martin and Anastasia (Demyanich) Warhol. She was raised in NE Minneapolis and graduated from Edison High School in 1948. After graduating she worked at the Hennepin County Courthouse for a few years as a stenographer. Elsie was united in marriage to Donald C. Stein at St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral in NE Minneapolis on February 23, 1952. They made their home in Kimball where she helped Don on the farm while raising their children. Elsie loved her faith and cherished the time spent with her family. She will be remembered as a kind and compassionate person always willing to listen to a friend. She enjoyed going to the casino, game shows, puzzles, solitaire on the computer and bird watching.
Elsie is survived by sons and daughter, Ed (Cindy), John (Mary Kay), Jim (Clara), Rick (Leann), Bob (Robin) all of Kimball and Dianne (Ralph) Schlangen of Richmond; sisters, Mary Mack of Henderson, NV and Irene Helseth of Mounds View; grandchildren, Rachel, Carl, Lisa, Theresa, Nick, Dan, Stacy, Scott, Brandon, Ryan, Natalie and Zach; and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, brothers Andrew, Peter and John, sisters Pearl Hoppe, Ann Hill, Helen Warhol, Sue Seaburg and Mary Warhol.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Nick, Carl, Dan, Brandon, Ryan, and Zach Stein, and Scott Schlangen. Music will be provided by her grandchildren Carl, Onya, Rachel, Lisa and Natalie. The family would like to thank the Hilltop Care Center for their kindness and care. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
