Cynthia Rae Hoffman was born October 1, 1952 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Herbert and Yvonne (Gunnarson) Hoffman. Cyndy grew up in Billings, Montana and Richfield, Minnesota along with her two sisters. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1970. She then furthered her education at Minnesota Institute of Medical and Dental Assistants receiving her Medical Assistant certificate in 1974. For over 40 years, Cyndy worked as a lab assistant/phlebotomist for Plasma Alliance, DaVita, Hennepin Faculty Associates, and Hennepin County Medical Center, retiring in 2012.
Cyndy made her home in Minneapolis, until recently moving to South Dakota to be closer to family. Cyndy was an avid reader of historical romance novels. When she wasn't reading, she was outside working in her flower garden. She was happiest when she had her hands in the dirt, her face in the sun, and a dog by her side. One of her fondest memories was going on a ride along with a Minneapolis Police Dept. K-9 unit for her birthday.
She is survived by her sisters, Lynn (Leon) Doxtad of Sioux City, IA, and Jo D'Ann Hoffman of Minneapolis; nephew, Keith (Jen) Roupe of North Sioux City, SD; great-niece, Piper Roupe; and many cousins and extended family members. Cyndy was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Yvonne Hoffman; grandparents, Paul and Martha Hoffman, Victor and Ethel Gunnarson; and numerous, beloved pets.
