Cindy Carter Obituary

Cindy R. Carter, age 59, of Maple Lake, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at her home.

A public visitation will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake. A private memorial service will be held on Friday, April 14 with Pastor Culynn Curtis officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Jeffers Cemetery in Jeffers, Minnesota.

Cindy Renae Rogotzke was born May 27, 1963 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to August and Carol (Miller) Rogotzke. She grew up on a farm in rural Jeffers and graduated with the Class of 1981 from Storden-Jeffers High School. Cindy went on to earn an associate degree in fashion, merchandising and design. On August 10, 1984, she was united in marriage to Steven Carter at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers. In 1996, they moved to Maple Lake where Cindy has worked as a special education paraprofessional at Maple Lake Elementary School for over 20 years. Cindy enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing games with family, and creating arts and crafts. Many of Cindy's paintings can be found in Maple Lake schools. Cindy made the world's best monster cookies. She had a passion for caring for kids with disabilities. Cindy leaves behind a legacy of love in her family and the students that she cared for.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Steve Carter; daughters, Caitlin (Jared) Johnson of West Fargo and Corian (Greg) Clark of Fargo; son, Taylor Carter of Maple Lake; grandchild, Averie Johnson; sisters and brother, Rhonda (Bill) Suess, Tim Rogotzke (Christine Zimmer), Valerie Sohl, Teresa (Brad) Hewitt, Tracie Rogotzke, and Carrie (Todd) Natvig; sister-in-law, Susi Rogotzke; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, co-workers, students and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Carol Rogotzke; and brother, Rodney "Rocky" Rogotzke.
