Barbara A. Koshiol, age 83, of Buffalo, formerly of St. Augusta, died Friday, June 24, 2022, at Quiet Oaks Hospice.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022, at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, St. Augusta with Fr. Erik Lundgren as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, and from 9:30-10:30 on Thursday, both at St. Mary Help of Christians Parish Center. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website. Memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
Barbara Ann Koshiol was born August 12, 1938, in rural Maple Lake, Minnesota to Henry and Amelia (Latour) Mavencamp. Barb attended school in Maple Lake, graduating in 1956. On October 24, 1959, Barb was united in marriage to Leo E. Koshiol at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. They made their home in the St. Augusta area. As their kids were young, Barb stayed home to care for the kids and their home. She later worked as a manager for Prairie House Restaurant for approximately 15 years. In 2016, Barb moved to Maple Lake and continued to make her home at Maple Manor until recently moving to Buffalo. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Help of Christians Church, Christian Mothers, as well as the Clearwater Lions. She enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, playing softball, along with sewing, and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking. Above all, Barb relished the time she was able to spend with her family.
Barb is survived by her children, Brenda (Max) Wanderlich of Mesa, AZ, Julie (Mark) Walterman of Lakeville, MN, John (Sheila) Koshiol of Clearwater, MN, Mary (Erick) Hagstrom of Medina, MN, Audrey (Greg) Roth of Annandale, MN, Andy (Beth) Koshiol of Clearwater, MN, and Deb (Ron) Cole of Clearwater, MN; daughter-in-law, Beau of Wenatchee, WA; grandchildren, David, Mark and Ann Frahm, Jack and Sarah Walterman, Trevor and Tim Koshiol, Erika and Grant Hagstrom, Paige Baldwin, Heather Jurek, Tami Denny, Leo Koshiol, Brandon Potter and Austin Ward; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Pete (Charlene) Mavencamp of Monticello, and Kathleen (Tom) Mooney of Maple Lake; brother-in-law, Ken Rachel of Maple Lake; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Della (Ralph) Lansing of Monticello; brother-in-law, August Laudenbach of Sauk Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Amelia Mavencamp; husband, Leo; son, Randy; siblings, William (Eileen) Mavencamp and Jack Mavencamp, Emily Rachel, Shirley (Herbert) Sherrard, Mary (Douglas) Elliott, and Genevieve (Bud) Aritt; and sister-in-law, Irene Laudenbach.
David and Mark Frahm, Trevor, Tim, and Leo Koshiol, Grant Hagstrom, Austin Ward, Brandon Potter, and Jack Walterman will serve as casket bearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
